As long as there is a runoff in the end. I don't think anyone wants to elect the president who wins the majority of the votes and that percentage turns out to be 20 to 30%.
ReplyDeleteas a follow up to IBES' comment, when are these candidates expected to gather the 20% signatures needed? and would there be some sort of an event where the delegates (is that what you call them?) would be able to publicly confirm their endorsements/validate their signatures?
ReplyDeleteIBES was talking about the votes, Anonymous, not about the signatures, so there's no need of getting 20% of the signatures (nor of the votes, for that matter).
ReplyDeleteand the signatures are not of the delegates but of the club members. candidates can start to gather them when the elections are called. we'll guide you through the organizational aspects once the process starts.
On the signatures, you can read this introductory post:
Pre-candidates need to collect signatures
yes he meant votes, knew that, but what i meant was the pre election signatures. thanks for the link.
