Rosell wants to continue collaboration with Unicef

Speaking to journalists at a sports conference in Barcelona yesterday (read more here), Barcelona presidential candidate Sandro Rosell has said that he will present his project during the first week of May but he already suggested that he would want the team to keep on carrying Unicef on the shirt:

"The contract with Unicef is sustainable if you have the patience to continue with it. In the short term you can discuss about the decision being good or bad, but there is no doubt that it's a great thing in the medium or long term, which in the world of marketing is seven, eight or ten years.

Could a commercial sponsor be included, together with Unicef? That depends on the club's finances. First you have to see what the real economic situation of the club is and then you can make decisions that are more or less altruistic. If you don't know the numbers, you can not give a well-founded opinion."

  3. heard some internal polls of him say the members don't like it too much if he goes too radically against some current policies

  4. That polling makes sense. Status quo is great until the team stops winning, right?
