In this week edition's of Catalan sports weekly paper Gol, in an article entitled "Dirty play on the internet", this blog is mentioned as one of the blogs used by the continuism to try to influence the opinions of the Barcelona fans through the comment section (you see a screenshot of the blog on the second page below).

Pep, mate
ReplyDeleteYOU MADE IT !!!
where is the champagne ?
Btw, what exactly does it say (just so I dont have to rely on Google translate) ?
ReplyDeleteI've expected more from that article. I guess they ran out of ideas after they throw every dirt they could on Soriano in a previous article.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite part was this: "explotant una de les virtuts que té internet, la llibertat, per intoxicar, per atacar als seus rivals electorals i per fer campanya arribant directament al soci des de l’anonimat i la cobardia de l’avatar"
As if they don't do the same thing.
@ kamikaze:
ReplyDeleteuhm, weren't you supposed to bring it?
@ kamikaze:
ReplyDeletethey claim that the "continuism" has an army of volunteers who go and comment on blogs, facebook and so on.
basically i think they're pointing at you, kamikaze. since you now suddenly, coincidentally re-appear and start commenting a lot. just admit you're paid by the club!!!
@ chris809
ReplyDeletei didn't publish the story itself, because there's very little substance to it (note for new readers: gol is a quite radical anti-board paper). the important thing is that they're reading us, i think, the rest can be forgotten.
Shh...
ReplyDeleteI am trying to disguise myself as a Benedito supporting anarchist.
I dont want those pirates with the Nike branded balaclavas coming after me again.
p.s : Any other notable mentions while I was away ?
ReplyDeleteWas looking through the archives of the old place today and I miss it.
But perhaps it is just as well. Somehow cant work up the same sort of excitement this season. Last season was special and the very nostalgia of it makes this season seems bland by comparison (maybe the fact that they are not beeming the matches out here anymore has something to do with it too).
Anyway I hope you know that you still have 335 followers on that site waiting for you to return again.
I didn't mean your article, pep. I've read the articles of gol and I wrote it about those.
ReplyDeletei know, chris. that's why i kind of wanted to second your view by saying i didn't make a post on it before for the same reasons.
ReplyDeleteno notable mentions i can immediately think of. we ended on a high, which is probably how it should be :)
ReplyDeleteand you can join totalbarca.com, kamikaze. a lot of the old blog guys are over there, and they're kind of waiting for your expertise... ;)
So if they are reading this Pep, can we write what we really think of them without it being deleted ;)
ReplyDeleteof course, IBES! i know already for a while they're watching us from catalonia, but it didn't influence my postings or my choice of subjects, so the commenters certainly shouldn't hold back... :)
ReplyDeleteThey play dirty , and they think everyone who isn't with them is against them .. I'm a follower of your blog since its start and I think it publishes all candidates' stories .. Saying that the comment section is used by volunteers of the continuity is really funny =D
ReplyDeletewhen I read such crap like Gol, I can't refuse myself to write how stupid rosellistas are.
ReplyDeletebut when I write it, it seems, that somoene pays me. what can I say? I hope it will be Joan Oliver and I hope he is generous guy xD
greetings from Poland ;)
the article deals with the commenters, so in that perspective it might be strange that this blog is mentioned, since we don't have many comments (supposedly because most people come here to read and learn).
ReplyDeletei guess we're among the mentioned blogs because we're kind of the only blog who specifically focuses on the elections (you don't even have something like this in catalan or spanish).
as far as this blog is concerned, it should be clear for regular readers that we're not taking sides in any way and that we aim to report as neutral as possible. all candidates can probably read here stories or quotes they don't like.
there are of course some limitations (i don't have the time to write 10 posts a day so sometimes i have to make choices, i'm dependent on the stories coming in from catalonia and spain,...) but i'm assuring there's a balance.
i don't need something from the current or the next board, i don't have to sell papers or to attract listeners or viewers, this place closes down after the elections, so i'm comfortable bringing the election news to the fans over the world with total freedom.
ps. what is interesting about the screenshot is that it's taken last sunday (you can see the E-112) but that the post about sandro rosell that is showed was published several weeks ago.

ReplyDeleteveeeery interesting

ReplyDeleteanything happened?
apparently not, anonymous. the plan must have failed somewhere down the road.
ReplyDeleteOpen any page from the archives and the date shown on the page remains the current date.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, pep! Well deserved recognition - irrespective of what the article says :)
ReplyDeletethanks, knives!
