Rosell skeptical about economic situation

Barcelona presidential candidate and former sports vice-president Sandro Rosell gave an interview to the Spanish version of men's monthly magazine Esquire. Some excerpts.

The presidency
"The biggest danger of being president of Barça is that you lose it. That is why you should surround yourself with competent people, who have a solid head on their shoulders and who always tell you the truth. I sure will not allow the club to get involved in political issues."

The economic situation of the club
"I'm skeptical. Each week new things come out. The truth is that it's difficult to believe everything that is said by the current board. The club members have the right to know the truth and if I get elected, I will convoke a general assembly to inform about the real economic situation. I also think the sale of the Miniestadi should be reconsidered because it looks like Barça in the end won't earn a lot from it."

Johan Cruyff
"I cannot forbid anyone to give his opinion. Besides, even if I would, he would continue talking."

  1. Maybe he thinks that he understands football better than Johan ?!
Cruyf has established Barca style, he was there allover the past 20 years, he is a major contributor in all successes the club achieved in that period .. certainly his opinion should be respected , more than an amateur (regarding football) who wanted to sack Frank and didn't want to buy Eto !

  4. The thing is that I like the current situation. Cruyff has a great relationship with the president and although he's not part of the board he has an influence on some decisions.
I don't know what would be the situation with for example Godall. But I know if Rosell will be elected this will change and Cruyff's words won't have more influence on Barça like yours or mine.

Is he calling himself incompetent because he did surround a president that was about to be on his way out! Why didn't he try better to be competent and help the president out? He is just power-hungry.

And about the Cruyff part, he is just hitting back at what Cruyff said about him the other day. Cruyff talks a lot, with bad grammar! If you remember, he even said last year after the first el Clasico that Messi needs to toughen up or something after he was hacked all game!
