Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona economic vice-president Joan Boix could take part in the presidential elections later this year.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta could reportedly support the option of Boix if first vice-president Alfons Godall and assets vice-president Jaume Ferrer wouldn't be able to find a deal on forming one united board list.
Boix, who didn't yet take a stand in the discussion between his colleagues Godall and Ferrer, could become the consensus candidate to avoid a division in the Barcelona board that could lead to two current directors running for president.
